An adventurous tour covering Zambia's not so well known parks. This tour takes you to several parks including the Kasanka National park - known for the annual fruit bat migration(Nov. and Dec.), said to be the largest congregation of mammals in Africa, possibly even the world and the Liuwa Plains - known for the wildebeest migration, considered as Africa's second largest animal migration.
Itinerary:
Day 1 and 2

Kasanka National Park and Bangweulu Plains

Meet and greet in Lusaka, our representative will welcome you to our country Zambia, immediately you will start off heading to the Kasanka National Park for your first tour. The drive will take approximately six hours, during which you will enjoy the sight of Zambia’s small towns and various attractions.

• This peaceful sanctuary, situated on the south western edge of the Lake Bangweulu basin, is one of Zambia’s smallest national parks. It’s 450 km2 however, are so well endowed with rivers, lakes, wetlands, forests, lagoons, meadows and dambos that it supports a uniquely wide range of animals and abundant birds and fish.

• You will be accommodated at the Kasanka lodge for 2nights on full board. The lodge is located right in the Park

• The tour will include a tour of the Bangweulu Flood Plains - Bangweulu’ means ‘The Place Where the Water Meets the Sky.’ The main catches in the Lake are Cychlids (bream, tigerfish, yellow belly) and catfish.

• Bangweulu is a great draw for birdwatchers attracting a profusion of waterfowl. Wattled crane, Saddle-billed stork, Spur-winged goose, Sacred Ibis, Glossy Ibis, Black-crowned Night Heron, White-cheeked Bee-eater, Swamp Flycatcher, Pink- throated and Fulbourne’s Longclaw, Denham’s Bustard and numerous ducks live here.

Highlights –Game drives, Canoe trips, Motor boat trip, Bat experience AND MORE. Elephant, Buffalo, Tsessebe, Reedbuck, Oribi and Sitatunga are also adapted to life in this wetland environment in Bangweulu. You don’t have to be a birding fanatic to love Bangweulu.

Day 3 & 4
Kafue National Park, Mayukuyuku Camp

Transfer back to Lusaka, upon arrival in Lusaka you will be met by one of our representatives – you will immediately start off to your next adventure to Kafue National Park. The Kafue National Park is the oldest and largest National Park in Zambia with a great diversity of wildlife. 3hrs drive from Lusaka.

• Accommodation at the Mayukuyuku Camp (Camping tents) the camping tents come with mattresses and bedding on the floor for 2nights on full board, check in and relax.

- Mayukuyuku Bush Camp is located on the banks of the Kafue River in a location that is probably one of the most picturesque spots in the whole Park. A prime site within the Kafue National Park.

Highlights - Over 45 mammal species have been recorded in the Kafue so even regular safari goers can find wildlife that is new to them – Aardvark, Pangolin, Caracal to name but a few. Bird watching is excellent here; we have rarities such as the African Finfoot and Pels Fishing Owl.

During your stay at Mayukuyuku Camp you will enjoy;
• Game drives - done twice a day. One at sunrise and the afternoon drive (partly a night drives leaves at approximately 2hrs before sunset. Drives are 3.5 to 4 hours long.

• Walking safaris – Walks leave around an hour after sunrise to avoid the heat of the day. The walks take place in the Kafue National Park itself and are approximately 3hours.

Day 5 - 8
North Barotse Trails and the Liuwa Plains

Meet and greet at the Mayukuyuku Camp and transfer to Mongu – 3hrs 30min journey. Land Rover will be used for all transfers. In Mongu you will be accommodated in one of the lodges within town for 4nights and bed and breakfast and from here you will be picked up every morning for your North Barotse trails and tours of the the Liuwa Plains.

• The North Barotse Trails Route is named after the ancient Luyi Kingdom of Barotseland. The Trails boasts of the remotest National Park in Zambia; the Liuwa Plains National Park and significant cultural, water and wildlife resources.

• Liuwa Plain National Park is home to Africa’s second largest wildebeest migration. This spectacle takes place mainly in the southern park when the rainy season begins in November. This attracts predators such as lion, cheetah, spotted hyena, jackal, serval, wild dog and African wildcat.

• The drive from Mongu to Liuwa National park is about an hour long.

Highlights - The wildlife to be seen while on this route includes various species of water birds, crocodiles and the water monitor. Common duiker are quite frequently seen and hippo, mostly confined to the rivers bordering the Liuwa Plains National Park. Fish species include the Tiger fish, red bellied bream, three spotted tilapia and Nembwe.

Day 9 - 12
Sioma Ngwezi National Park and Livingstone

Early morning on the 5th day you will head south to the Sioma Ngwezi National Park for another wilderness experience – 1hr 30min drive. Accommodation will be at the Sioma Falls Camp for 2nights and at the Katuli Pools located right inside the park – 2nights on full board.

• This is the third largest park in Zambia mainly surrounded by Kalahari woodland. In the Park most wild game associated with the African bush may be encountered although up to now in fairly low numbers. The local people belong to the Lozi tribe who are ruled by the Barotse Royal Establishment, representing one of the richest cultures in Zambia.

Highlights - Game drives, game walks and bird watching excursions are offered from Sioma Camp. Tiger fishing in the Zambezi River presents a challenge for sport anglers from all over the world. The main natural attraction in the area is the Sioma (or Ngonye) Falls.

Day 13
On the final day you will be met by one of our colleagues for your transfer to Livingstone for one night. The drive will take approximately 6hrs. Accommodation will be at the Zambezi Waterfront.
• Check in at the Waterfront. Later in the afternoon you will take part in an evening game drive.

Livingstone has other optional activities such as :Bungee jumping, gorge swing, helicopter rides over the falls, Micro light rides over the falls, speed boating, Horse rides, Elephant ride and more…Please note all these activities MUST be pre-booked.

Day 14
• You will check out the following morning and transferred to the airport for your flight to Lusaka - arrival in time for your international flight.
